LMSI Committees

Lisbon Main Street, Inc. was organized in 2001 by a group of concerned residents who were convinced downtown Lisbon could recreate some of the luster it once had. So, in 2001 they formed their non-profit revitalization group, and in 2005 officially joined the family of New Hampshire Main Street communities. As a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the National Main Street Center, LMSI has a board of directors and adheres to the comprehensive revitalization principles that are embodied in the Four Point Approach©.

The four-point approach to downtown revitalization designed by the National Main Street program addresses specific areas of concern. We have designed LMSI’s committees around this approach. Click on each committee link to learn more.

  • Organization: works to maintain and grow support community-wide, manage fundraising efforts, recruit and retain volunteers, and stay in touch with the membership and community.
  • Promotion: develops and coordinates special business and community events to attract customers and activity to Main Street and promote downtown as a unified business and community center.
  • Design: encourages appropriate and unified design within the downtown district by helping property and business owners restore and enhance positive elements of their property, street amenities,
    commercial window displays, signage, etc.
  • Economic Development: works to plan and diversify the present ‘mix’ within downtown by working to attract a healthy balance of retail, professional, recreation, and residential uses.
